More ‘knife wands’ in schools to help tackle knife crime | London

Schools in areas of high knife crime will be given metal detecting ‘knife wands’ to help tackle the problem.

The measure forms part of Sadiq Khan’s plan to tackle knife crime in the capital after figures revealed a five per cent rise between 2014 and 2015.

The strategy is backed by a further investment of £625,000 taking total spending by the Mayor’s Office on knife and gang crime projects to more than £7 million.
