Disruption for Southern passengers during overtime ban | London

Southern Railway passengers face more disruption on Thursday because of an overtime ban by drivers.

The action comes as a commuters’ group goes to court to seek a judicial review of the franchise. The Association of British Commuters is challenging the Government’s handling of Southern which has been hit by a year of industrial action, staff shortages and other problems.

Members of the Aslef union will stop working overtime in the long-running dispute about driver-only trains and are also being balloted for strikes in a separate row over pay.

Southern said it plans to operate 75% of its weekday services on Thursday and Friday and was working to improve on this number from July 3.
