Weeks of disruption at Waterloo as major engineering work begins | London

Passengers using Waterloo are about to endure three weeks of disruption as a major engineering project gets underway.

From tonight ten platforms will be closed until August 28 which means a significant reduction in South West Trains services. An average of 270,000 journeys are made to or from Waterloo every day.

Rail bosses have urged passengers to consider taking a holiday, working from home or travelling earlier or later than normal while the work is being carried out.
