100 days since the Grenfell Tower fire | London

Today marks 100 days since the deadly blaze, which has left hundreds homeless and around 80 dead.

Earlier this week police said 60 victims have so far been formally identified, 11 of them children, but the exact number still remains unknown as investigators continue to continue to work their way through the wreckage.

The tower today remains behind cordons, uncovered and empty. Those on the Hammersmith and City or Circle Tube lines are able to pass and look up towards the charred tower.

According to NHS data, some 457 adults have been singled out as requiring ‘urgent’ treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For some, the blackened Grenfell Tower has increased their mental anguish.

The building is expected to be demolished towards the end of 2018, after police have finished recovering evidence from inside.
