UK’s second tallest building to be built in Croydon | London

Councillors in Croydon have unanimously approved plans to build Britain’s second tallest building in the town centre.

The council’s planning committee said the decision to approve the 68-storey tower block was “one of the hardest decisions ever made”.

Buildings at 1-5 Lansdowne Road and Voyager House at 30-32 Wellesley Road are now set to be demolished and replaced with 68 and 41-storey towers with an 11-storey block connecting the two towers.

CZWG Architects LLP has drawn up a dramatic design featuring a four star inter-continental hotel, 330 private and serviced apartments,16500m2 of grade A office space, new leisure centre and a public restaurant and bar with a viewing gallery over Wellesley Road.
