Man dies in Holland Park fire as 80 firefighters tackle the scene | London

A man has died while more than 80 firefighters battled a fire in a flat in Holland Park. The area is home to many celebrity neighbours including Robbie Williams, Simon Cowell and the Beckhams.

Twelve fire engines arrived at Holland Park Gardens in West London shortly before 10pm to attempt to put out the flames on the first floor of the building.

Part of a first floor flat was damaged by fire. A second floor flat was also damaged by fire. Sadly one man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We were called at 9.59pm on Tuesday to Holland Park Gardens, W14, to reports of a fire.
“We sent an ambulance crew, our Hazardous Area Response Team, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance trauma team in a car to the scene. Sadly, despite extensive resuscitation efforts, one patient – a man – died at the scene.”

Approximately eight neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
