Arsene Wenger ready to rest Arsenal players for Europa League second leg clash | London

Arsenal will almost certainly rest a number of players in the second leg of their Europa League clash with Ostersund after beating the Swedish side comfortable 3-0 on Thursday.

Arsene Wenger will be afforded the luxury of shuffling his pack on Thursday ahead of the League Cup final against Manchester City next Sunday, after Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil and a Sotirios Papagiannopoulos own goal eased the Gunners to a comfortable win.

The Premier League team did not have it all their own way as goalkeeper David Ospina maintained the three-goal margin thanks to a last-minute penalty save.

“We’ll try to win the game again,” he said.

“Maybe we’ll rotate the players who did not play tonight and rest one or two who played tonight.

“I think we adapted quite well to the pitch. They were maybe a bit cautious at the start and we took advantage of it. Overall we won in a comfortable way.”
