Nikolai Glushkov death: Close friend of Vladimir Putin critic Boris Berezovsky found dead in London

A Russian exile has been found has been found dead at his London home, according to reports.

Nikolai Glushkov was a close associate of late tycoon Boris Berezovsky, an outspoken critic of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The 68-year-old was discovered by his family and friends late on Monday, the Guardian newspaper reported.

Mr Glushkov, a former deputy director of Aeroflot, was twice charged with fraud in Russia and in recent years had moved to London.

Mr Berezovsky, once one of the most powerful businessmen in Russia, was found hanged at his home near Ascot, Berkshire, in March 2013, aged 67.

A coroner recorded an open verdict after an inquest.

Due to “contradictory” evidence, the coroner said he could not prove beyond all reasonable doubt that the businessman either took his own life or was unlawfully killed.
