Tributes to burglar put up for fourth time after repeated efforts by residents to remove memorial | London

Tributes to a serial burglar who was stabbed to death by a pensioner were put up for the fourth time – despite repeated efforts by residents to remove the memorial.

More than a dozen bunches of flowers were fixed to a fence on Wednesday morning, near the scene where Henry Vincent, 37, was stabbed by Richard Osborn-Brooks, 78, during a burglary gone wrong.

Some also had notes attached from friends and family members who said the career criminal “didn’t deserve” what happened.

The battle between residents and mourners has now entered day three as the memorial continues to be destroyed and rebuilt.

Several police officers also stood guard near the shrine, across the road from Mr Osborn-Brooks’s house.

Vincent was stabbed to death last week on Wednesday after he attempted to raid the pensioner’s home armed with a screwdriver.

His family has pledged to keep restoring the memorial if angry locals continue to tear it down.

The situation is getting out of hand now.

The people leaving tributes have lost a family member but just look at the circumstances.

This probably isn’t the best place to leave flowers and things. What did they expect would happen?
