Wrexham 1-2 Dagenham & Redbridge

Wrexham failed to restart their play-off push against Dagenham & Redbridge and are now five games without a win.

Paul Rutherford’s first half goal gave Wrexham the advantage at the interval, but they were pegged back when Fejiri Okenabirhie curled an effort home.

Wrexham thought they had scored a second through Scott Quigley, but the ball did not quite cross the line.

A bad day for the Dragons then got worse when David Raven diverted Michael Cheek’s header through his own net.

Wrexham have failed to win a game since Dean Keates quit the club for Walsall and their play-off aspirations continue to fade despite just holding onto the last spot.

Wrexham boss Andy Davies told BBC Sport Wales: “Anyone who saw the game today will not understand how we have not won it.

“We should have come away with the win, we asked for a reaction from the players and we got it, but it is a results business.

“On another day we would have won… but it was not meant to be.”
