Ballet school’s stolen costumes returned | London

Over 100 costumes feared lost for ever by a London ballet school have been reunited with the precious garments.

The Central School of Ballet outfits were in the back of a van when it was stolen from a secure premised on Tuesday 8 May. Although relatively worthless the costumes were a key part of the school’s UK tour.

All of the clothes were found in an open garage at Bromley-by-Bow, the area in which the vehicles tracker was turned off, and returned to the Clerkenwell-based ballet school.

A member of the public found the costumes and phoned the ballet school to report their discovery.

Ballet Central has recovered all their specially made costumes that were stolen last week.

Over 100 costumes were designed and created for the company’s current 2018 UK tour and were all stolen last Tuesday 8th May from secure premises in Farringdon.

Following the media appeal last week, a member of the public found the costumes in an open garage in Bromley-by-Bow, close to where the tour vehicle was last tracked, and called Ballet Central’s studios in Clerkenwell to report the news.
