Incredible new hi-res photos show London as you’ve never seen it before

These incredible new high-resolution photos show London in all its glory like you’ve never seen it before.

Photographer Jason Hawkes has launched a new project which include a series of breathtaking shots of the capital taken in the last six months.

Soaring over the city at heights of up to 1,900ft, the photographer has revealed a catalogue of snaps taken from a helicopter.

The shots are divided up into ‘The Shard’, ‘The Thames’, ‘People’, ‘Green Spaces’, ‘Night Flying’, ‘Sport’, and ‘Construction’.

Here we see a beautiful shot of the City of London, illuminated by the dying light of a distant sunset.

Mr Hawkes told the Standard: “I’m flying in an AS355 helicopter. I’m harnessed in, as is all my kit, as we fly always with the doors off.

“I’m usually up between 750ft and 1500ft. Occasionally, if the shoot requires, up to 10,000ft. This particular set are from 750ft up to 1900ft.”

Another shot shows dozens of swimmers lapping up the sun with a swim in the Brockwell Park lido on a warm summer’s day.

Mr Hawkes says he enjoys photographing London from a great height on a weekly basis. Here we have an incredible overhead shot of Wembley Stadium.
