RAF 100 flypast 2018 LIVE stream: Watch the Royal Air Force centenary celebration as up to 100 aircraft fly over London

Up to 100 military aircraft are set to fly over London today to celebrate the Royal Air Force’s centenary year .

The rare spectacle will see jets, helicopters and aeroplanes unite in the skies above Buckingham Palace at around 1pm.

Members of the royal family are are to gather on the balcony of the palace to see the flypast, following a service at Westminster Abbey in the morning.

The aircraft are from a range of different eras of RAF history and include Spitfires, Hurricanes and Red Arrows.

Air chief marshal Sir Stephen Hillier, the head of the RAF, said that today is a “hugely important day” and the “pinnacle” of the centenary celebrations.

“Bringing together that big parade, the new colour and the flypast – this is going to be a tremendous day, and it is about commemorating all of our history, and it is about celebrating what we do today,” he said.
